Missy gave birth to Rain on April 8, 2017 at the Galena facility. She will never have to worry about where she will find her next meal. Rain has become our Ambassador. She loves people and attention and has several "sweet spots." She was moved with the others to Elkdog medicine Ranch in 2017 when it was first purchased. She is definitely the Belle of the Ranch.
Star has been at Elkdog medicine Ranch since Nov 2020. Sanctuary was sought for him and his bonded mare Stormy after the passing of their beloved owner of ten years, from cancer. Star was retrieved in late November but it took several more trips to bring Stormy here. Sadly we lost Stormy on August 24, 2022. Leaving Star to make his own way in the herd. Star's exact age is unknown but he's estimated to be in his mid to late twenties.
Shiloh has been at Elkdog medicine Ranch since December 2023. Both Shiloh (age 13) and Jackson (17) were surrendered when their owner of five years needed to relocate and could not take them with her. Tragically, we lost Jackson on April 19, 2025. Shiloh is an integral member of our main herd and leads the other ladies with a fierce spirit.
Sergeant (f.k.a. Crowley) came to Elkdog Medicine, Inc. on May 3, 2021. He was approximately 9, had been ridden extensively, and was one member of an 18 horse legal seizure in Kansas. His ground manners are superb but he has a chronic limp from what appears to be a tendon injury above his left front knee and arthritis in the knee. He will not be placed for adoption.
