Adopting Chickens
We have rehomed 3 of the chickens to-date, lost 1, and allowed 1 hen to have 2 chicks. We have 3 roosters, several Bantums, and a mix of full size chickens. We do not know the breeds, the ages, or which ones are laying the 12-19 eggs a day that we are gathering. Adoption fee is set at $40.00 and includes signing an adoption agreement that states that the bird is not to be eaten. All requests for adoptions are subject to approal.

Not long after we moved in at Elkdog Medicine Ranch, we were approached by a volunteer who asked if we could take 35 adult chickens. He was ready to get rid of them all. Over the next few weeks volunteers built a coop and a run and on October 31, 2017 we welcomed them all home. This picture was taken the day we picked them up right after we had finished catching them all.
