Elkdog Medicine, Inc. is a nonprofit Kansas Animal Rescue Corporation, established on May 23, 2018 by our founder and board president Terri Birch. Her vision was to create a safe environment for domestic farm animals that have been abused, neglected, or abandoned, or are perceived to have passed their previous usefulness. We specialize in equine rescue (horses) at ELKDOG medicine Ranch but do accept other farm animals on a case by case basis.
The goal of ELKDOG medicine Ranch is to ultimately rehome animals. We are not in the business of collecting or breeding animals; instead, we are a no-kill facility who strives to rehabilitate unwanted, abused, neglected, or abandoned animals. We will work to our fullest extent to place those animals in forever-homes through adoption. When adoption isn't possible, Foster homes provide temporary, reduced stress, environments. And for those unable to Adopt or Foster, our Sponsorship program allows for community members to be closely involved with meeting an animal's needs while they are living at ELKDOG medicine Ranch.
Don't ride anymore but want to still have horses in your life? You might not hear it from many, but that's okay too. There is a growing population of Non Ridden Equine support worldwide. Call to arrange a visit and come out to walk with the ponies. We also have Non Ridden equine for adoption who would love to meet you!
If you are also passionate about animals and what we are doing here at ELKDOG medicine Ranch, please contact us. We are always looking for volunteers at the ranch to help make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you.
